Theory Development in Social Sciences  Course # 703- 4 Credits
Participants will get an advanced working knowledge of the physical reactions to aging.  They will be able to identify and differentiate from getting old vs. stressed out with the constant thought of dying soon.  Bible verses may apply.  Students will write a paper using research based materials on how to counsel the aging.

Advanced Research I Course # 710- 4 Credits
Students will create a community resource pamphlet/booklet that incorporates educational information on the family and children.  Students will design their prevention manual.

Comparative theories of Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families related to Alcohol and Drug Abuse Course # 704- 14 Credits
Participants will have a solid understanding of the psychological and emotional signals and effects of the family role models using drugs and alcohol and the anxiety it produces in small  children.  They will be able to identify their own psychological emotional styles.  One term paper.  Bible verses may be applied.

Advanced Research II  Course #711- 4 Credits
Child abuse related to drugs and alcohol use at home will be studied.  A research paper is required on the effects of counseling parents and children relating to drug and alcohol abuse.

Area of Specialization Seminar I   Course # 740- 4 Credits
Students will become aware on consultation and collaboration to meet community counseling needs.  Participants will get a complete understanding of a system of diversity of problems plaguing the community such as depression caused by lack of community participation when in desperate need of counseling.  Students will design a plan to educate these groups with different
services to meet their counseling and interpersonal needs.  Bible verses may be applied to plan.

Organizational change related to counseling groups will be studied. Participants will be able to apply various techniques to different changes and developments in community organizations, understand their particular situation of development maturation, and know about individuals social learning, to shape their personalities in order to maintain their health and provide effective treatment using counseling groups.  Bible verses may be applied.
Students will choose case studies (no less than three) of a topic they are interested in and write how an effective counseling group could provide remedy of the problem.

Participants will focus on the understanding and causes of social malfunction: to be included is sexual abuse and dysfunctional families.  Different criminal community groups and concentrating counseling groups affected emotionally by disasters will be among those studied.  Paper due.

Students will demonstrate a better understanding of human nature through studies of cultural similarities and differences of various ethnic groups. One paper on cross cultural studies is required.

Practicum/Advanced Generalistic Practice   Course # 780- 14 Credits
Advanced family therapy choosing your own subject working with a dysfunctional family; exploration of the various roles that develop in a dysfunctional society and express your own opinion, using your chosen family study by way of an experimental exercise including counseling and treatment.  One paper is required.  Bible verses may be applied.

Dissertation Seminar Studies  Course #716- 14 Credits
Self-awareness and personal growth assessment will be filled out.  Extensive study of one of your own subjects will give you personal growth.  Understanding your personal building blocks in regard to your own feelings and growth related to your career, self-esteem, anger, and maybe even depression.  Bible verses may be applied.  Students will write a paper applying concepts of life planning in career counseling.

Social Policy: Process, Product, and Performance/Community Organizations Course # 723- 4 Credits
Student will develop a thesis statement on theories of spiritual or secular healing involving different ethnic groups and/or whole community issues. I.e. battered wives, domestic violence, and rape survivors.  Statement must be approved before thesis work can begin.  Student will hold an interview to present thesis statement to be approved.  Student publishes thesis at own expense.

Electives Course #714- 4 Credits
Counseling on Developmental Disabilities or Family and Severe Mental Illnesses.

Dissertation Course #717- 28 Credits
Students will write a dissertation paper upon approval.  Students publish thesis at their own expense.
